Welder / Fabrication

This position requires a self-motivated individual that has experience with Mig welding, blue print reading and can handle a variety of power tools. Able to work independently or side by side with fellow workers. Certified in operation a forklift is a plus, and must be able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate fabricating machines such as; Mig welder, Vertical band saw, Horizontal saw, and Drill press.
  • Position, align, fit, and weld parts to form complete units or subunits, following blueprints and layout specifications, and using jigs, welding torches, and hand tools
  • Lift or move materials manually or with hoist or forklift.
  • Lay out and examine metal stock or workpieces to be processed to ensure that specifications are met.
  • Handle powertools; ie: Gas saw, Band saw, and Grinders
  • Maintain a clean as safe work area, use protective equipment as required
  • Communicate appropriately and professionally

Skills & Abilities

  • Able to work in fast-paced, self-directed environment
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their uses and maintenance
  • Critical thinking to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions or approaches to problems.
  • Able to follow both written and verbal instructions
  • Strong organization skills, multi-tasker, and self-starter
  • Knowledge of material handling equipment a plus.

Experience / Education

  • Education to include tech school, related on the job training or an associate’s degree
  • Previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience list above
